| Where can I get Phillis a new cage? Hello,
I just sold Phillis' old cage because I was planning on buying her a new one off www.martinscages.com. Well the lady buying the cage came 2 days after I talked to her...So I didn't have time to buy the cage right away or anything. So right now she is in one of my other old cages...It is kind of small so she gets to have about 4 hours of run time each night (with her cage open) until I get her a new cage...I was just about to order one of Martins Cages until I realized how small they are...I do not want to buy her one that small so anyone know where I can buy her a new cage for less than $50.00 shipped?
Thanks,
Corina |

| Wow, that'll be difficult. I buy mine for $140 at the store. To have on shipped and under $50 is going to be hard. Perhaps looking fo a used one in your area would be more fruitful? |

| I sold her old one because it was way to tall (just a bunch of extra space at the top), and because I wanted to get her a new one...I know Martins Cages sells them unassembled for the price and then about $5.00 shipping...They also send the stuff to put it together and directions. It takes about 15 min...They don't have any good cages near me that would be fit for a hedgie. I am willing to spend a little more, but would like around $50.00. Thanks. |

| I'm clueless about hedgies, but would a C&C cage be suitable for it?

| Don't even have a clue of what C&C cage is. lol. So I don't know. I do know though that hedgies need a solid bottm for their cage. They can't have wire like the chinnies... |

| C&C stands for cube and coroplast. http://cavycages.com/
Look on the top left part of the page. They have a link to cage pics and models. you'll see what they are there. C&C cages are easy to make and very inexpensive. I'm just not sure if they are suitable for a hedgie or not.

| The C&C cages are the wire cubes that they sell for organizing like at Target, Kmart etc. You could make a "fence" with it for the perimeter of the cage, but the bottom is usually made of coroplast (plastic sign material). You could also use a flannel backed plastic tablecloth and use material liners for the bottom if it is set on the floor or solid surface.
I found the best cage is a large sterilite bin that has holes drilled or burned in it for ventilation. We have three together connected by PVC pipe and it gives them a ton of room. I think each bin was only $10 or so on sale. Maybe tomorrow I can dig out my pics of the girls' cage so you can see what I mean. You need something big enough to house the hedgie and the wheel.
I think I have a link for the C&C cages: http://www.cavycages.com/
Hope that helps!

| Most people that I know use Sterilite bins. They are cheap and easy to convert into a hedgie cage. |
