#1 | | Guest | My hedgie Landry- color? Any idea what color she might be? It doesn't really matter to me- I just think she's cute! But it would be nice to be able to tell people what color she is and not have to guess! | |

| I am not very good with the colors, and pictures can change the coloring enough to make it even more difficult. Here is a link to the most recognized authority on hedgehog colours. It will guide you through how to look at masks, quill markings and skin color under the quills which will determine what color category your hedgehog is in. http://hedgehogcentral.com/colour/
She sure is a cutie no matter what color!!!

| I'm going to take a very wild guess and say she's a cinnamon. But that's just a lucky guess from a non-hedgie person

| I really doubt that she is a cinnamon, she looks to me more like an algerian brown. what a cutie! |

| if you look under her eyes there are rusty/golden brown cheek patches which is a sign of algerian coloring. |

| I think I see the blue ring in the photo. Does that mean she is an algerian then?
Our Pepper was thought to be an algerian chocolate and he had the blue ring.

| they do not have to be algerian to have the blue. my choco girl has it. but the eye patches, distinct, are algerian colors only. however, the face mask could just be mottled and they might not actually be the patches. try these characteristics...
is the skin on her belly spotty or mottled?
is her shoulder skin a dark grey?
algerian masks often go past the eyes almost to the quills. hers does not seem to.
and look at the banding on her forhead quills...are they double banded very very distinctly?
if the answer is yes to all of these, algerian most definately. if it is a basic no, then she is a white bellied. colors do not cross over, although other physical traits often do. the only hedgie that is a true mating of the algerian and white bellied blends is the apricot.

| she's not a standard because she has a peachy colour to the quills. Unless thats just the picture. She looks a lot like my male pickes. He is a standard though. So I'm not really sure. Can we see a picture without any bright colours in it? |
