I saw a hedgie with respiratory problems

Hi everyone,

I just want to tell hedgie owner that its possible for hedgies to get a respiratory problem during the summer. A women called me up and asked if I could check out her hedgie since its was sneezing and it was blowing bubbles out its nose. She noticed it a few days ago but thought it would go away. So she brought it over and it did have a bad respiratory problem. She had to go to my vet and get Baytril pronto....I hope Maggie makes it, as she was in bad condition when I saw her. The moral of this story is get to a vet as soon as you see signs of sneezing or a dripping nose. Hedgehogs go down hill very fast. I am crossing my paws in hopes she makes it.

Yes hedgehogs are too good at hiding illness that often it is too late by the time the owner realizes it. Lets hope those antibiotics work quickly and she feels better soon.
