the specialists said that about 60% of these tumors were benign and she wouldn't spay Rose because of her age (4 in Sept). Now the bad...becuase of her age, bones, lungs and the stress that would be caused by travel and surgery, Rose would only have 10% or less chance of healing/surving the ordeal.
After a long discussion with the vet...we decide to set up an appointment for another xray in 4 weeks...and forego the surgery. Since Rose is in no pain, I/we felt that she would be happier this way. i am keeping a close eye on her and she seems so normal for Rose--she stills raises her head and sniffs about when I talk to her, she still runs out at meal time, she still nips at Sarah when she attempts to take over her sleepy spot.
The good news is that the skin scraping test came back negative for parasites--good for Rose as well as Sarah her pen pal.
