two new piggie babies

miss trixie has presented me with piggers! i had no clue she was even pregnant! my daughter's friend was walking by their cage and just happened to look down and say, "hey, you have babies."

i said, "we have WHAT?!" and ran over and sure enough there were two little piggers. a smooth coated girl with a few little streaks of orange and a swirly coated boy with a few streaks of black! they are so cute! as soons as i get my computer back, i will post pics fo them! they are much smaller than guinea pig babies i ahve had previously. but they are perfect little babies, running and munching and wheeking away. thye are real dolls. and they are learning from their mama, they come to the edge of their c & c cage and wheek away at me, when trixie does. they are chips off the old block for sure!

oh, and get this, the little black girl has four toes on her back feet-yep, i said FOUR! the fourth ones are like little dewclaws or something. they just sort of hang there, no support to them at all. i will post close ups of them if i can. now i just need names.

It would be cool if you could call them some names that together sound like surprise - like Sir and Pixie (prix is french for prize, but Prix is NOT a good piggie name!!) Unless of course you pronounced it right, which would be Pree, which together would be Sir and Pree which is the french for surprise!! Sorry I'm rambling, I've only had one coffee this morning!! Congrats on your new piggies

Congrats on the new babies! I know how you feel because I experienced the same kind of surprise when I was 15. Our female piggy had two babies, and we were shocked because our male had been neutered months before.

Its so cool how they come out like mini adults! Can't wait to see pics.

Actually Prix is the french word for prize. The french word for surprise is "surprise" pronounced surpreeze.

Weesie congrats on the piggy babies! Can't wait to see pictures

LOL Solarsis!!! And you are also correct about the pronunciation of surprise -- I just thought that if you were going to split the word to make 2 names "preese" isn't a very good name but "pree" would be an acceptable abbreviation. Just my early saturday morning ramblings!!
