| trixie is in trouble today i picked up trixie and she seemed very thin and oddly hyper. just almost spastic! when i lifted her up to kiss her, she was nashing her mouth oddly. when i looked closer, i noticed her teeth were overgrown and offset with an underbite! how did i miss this?! well, actually, she has been very touchy with us since the babies were born and so we have been not holding her and just hecking on them and then letting them be. i trimmed her front teeth and thought, woohoo, all will be well. nope. she still can not close her mouth because her back molars are overgrown as well! i called the vet here and the cool new lady is gone for a few days and the other vet has just no clue but they told me of another vet about 30 minutes or so away that might help me. i called them and they were like, oh, yeah, we do it often. then we got to talking and it turns out that they do all exotics. ia m so happy to have found another good vet-and so pissed that they did not tell me about this new vet when journ was waiting her life away last saturdy!! gggrrrrrrr...but i digress...
so, i have an appointment for tomorrow afternoon to get trixies teeth ground down, and until then i am to feed a syringe full of special mix every half hour or so. woohoo! i mashed pellets into a mix of baby food carrots, peas, and apples. she ate a ton (relatively speaking), i gave her more than a syringe full. she can drink from the bottle fine, so she is ok there. i am feeling like such a bad animal mommy, first journ's infection and now this.
has any one else had experiences with trimming pigger teeth?

| Poor Trixie. Hope she gets her teeth sorted soon! I haven't had to deal with that yet, thank goodness- it is something I am always paranoid about. Let us know how it goes and how you like the new vet! She will likely be less touchy after she can eat properly again! |

| Poor Trixie, She will feel much better after tomorrow and I know how it is with touchy moms, I have a chinnie right now that barks at me everytime I get close to her cage, I just tell her in a sweet voice to get over it.

| trixie did nto get to go to the vet today, i had a doc's appointment befor eher appointment and it turned out to be a horrible emotional appointment and they ahd to do an emergency procedure so i missed my vet appointment. i will call in teh a.m. and reschedule.
trixie is doing good. i am syringe feeding her and she is loving it! i took some pics. i'll post them in a bit. she is also able to eat some pellets on her own, with my help. she is also loving all the love she is getting.
