New Baby Pig!!!

Some of you may have read my post in the Rabbit forum about my new baby GP Lars. He is adorable, but then again which one isn't, He is a dark mousey brown color with a few patches of black, white and pale tan. He is apparently a abyssinian/agouti x sheltie , so I am not sure how long his coat is going to end up, but right now it is around 1.5" and he has like 8-9 rosettes. He is only 4 weeks old so his coat may eventually end up being longer.
I have never had a GP get so attatched to me like he is ever in my life. I can't put him down or stands up against the side of his cage staring at me squelling and crying. I rescued him from a place were he was cold and starving and his mother died when he was like 2.5-3 weeks old, so I think he is just so relieved to be warm and safe, and that he associates me with that feeling.

I am amazed he is still alive, a little GP that young without a mother and no special care should have died. He is so anemic that when I took a blood sample, his blood looked like water with a bit of food coloring in it. Those fleas he had almost sucked him dry. I had blood tests done to check if everything is still working right and everything seems fine. He should make a full recovery , but who knows how being so malnurished at such a young age will affect his growth and development though. He also has a tooth growing twisted so it wasn't wearing properly so I trimmed it, with time and things to chew it may straighten a bit.

I will get some pictures of him and post them soon. I'll catch some of him with his new best friend and my part-time babysitter Lint, the bunny. They groom each other, play and fall asleep with Lars on Lints back.

If anyone has any advice on anything special such a young pig might need, it would be greatly appreciated. I have him on a special Jr Gp food that is made by a local organic feed company and some supplements that include Vit C. He has also been getting small amounts of plain yogurt and banana, because he had horrible diahrrea, but it is pretty much gone now.

Thanks for your time!!!
Meg and Lars

Poor baby. He sounds really cute. I wish his former owners could be prosecuted. People like that are sick.
