| I'm worried about Little Pig In the past couple of days he really seems to have gone downhill. I moved his cage to a different location yesterday, and when I picked him up he seems to have got very thin under all that hair, and he's not eating very much. I checked his teeth tonight and they seem fine, and I let him have a run on the carpet (closed guarded from Alex!) and he's moving ok. There are no sounds of pain when I pick him up. I just finely chopped some carrot and grapes together for him and put it in a little dish for him to nibble on.
I guess I have to face facts - he's about 5 years old. Please everyone keep your fingers crossed for Little Pig that he picks up soon, or if it is the end for him he passes easily. |

| Little Pig will be in my thoughts. What about taking him to the vet?

| Well he's still around this morning, but it doesn't look like he's eaten anything.
I'm going to see if I can take him nto the vets this morning. |

| Crap, the guinea pig vet isn't in till tomorrow.
I'll have to take my chances. I'll chop up some more carrot and grape, and maybe put some hay in the processor to see if it will chop up. I've got some bok choi I can leave for him. At least if he gets hungry he'll have a choice to nibble from |

| This is prolly a stupid question cos I'm sure you've already thought of it, but have you checked his teeth? If they've gone out of alignment he may not be able to eat and thus the weight loss. In any event, maybe you could throw the food in a processer and syringe feed him tonight (also giving him water by syringe) to keep him going til he can get in to see the vet?
Poor wee guy - I hope he'll be okay

| I checked his teeth and they seem fine. I'm going to puree an apple tonight (god willing) and see if he can eat that. |

| I'll be thinking of him. I hope he starts to eat something or the vet can figure something out. Don't guinea pigs have like an 8-10 year life expectancy? Or am I way off?
