Guinea pig eye changing color?!?!

Hi everybody, i am new here and i really hope you can help me with my guinea pigs problem.

Ok so a few days ago her eye was receeding and I had heard it could be from dehydration. So i made sure she had LOTS of liquids. It got better. But now her eye is getting cloudy and red in the corner. It started from the corner and now is moving across the whole eye. Her eye now looks reddish bluish gray and cloudy. I dont know if its lethal or it will pass or what. Have not taken her to the vet - last pig i did it was waste of time and money. Please help me in trying to figure what is wrong. I love her very much and would not want to see her dye. She is acting and eating fine still and responds to seeing stuff on that side of her. Thanks again for your time.

I think it's time to see a Vet.. maybe some eye drops will be all it takes to save her eye. What you describe doesn't sound good to me..

I know you told me to go to a vet but the price of a vet is kinda stopping me from visiting the vet. But my piggie - Rodeo - is acting completely normal as if nothing is wrong. She is responding to things on that side of her, standing up, eating, drinking, playing around - completely normal. I just want to know if anything like this has happened to anyone else - or something similar to this. Please and thank you.

If your guinea pig's eye is red/blue and oozing stuff, you really need to go see a vet. If money is tight, see if the vet offers a payment plan or a sliding scale. If that is not an option, see if you can borrow the money (from friends or family) or charge it to a credit card.

Here are some pages with information on eye problems in guinea pigs:
