I am very saddened to report that Hazel has developed teeth problems.

She started drooling a few weeks ago and after being checked out, we have determined it is definitely her teeth. I've opted to not have her teeth filed. She is over 10 years old and the chances of complications with the anesthetic are higher...plus I know that the filings are only a temporary fix and usually lead to a lot of pain and suffering. I've done a lot of reading and this seems to be the general consensus among very experienced chin owners. It's been a very difficult decision because
I want her to be with me (and her daughter Zoya) forever. But I think it's best for her to not subject her to the treatments. She is doing well right now, still eating and being a brat. She hasn't been pawing at her mouth at all, just drooling. She's holding weight but I'm dreading the day that it starts to drop.

Anyway, it's kind of scary putting it into text but the reality is that they never live forever as much as we want them to.

So I'm going to cherish the time that we have left and let her be the spoiled brat that she is.
