the jump-twitching is a happy hop. He was being playful. Peach sticks are not good. You should take those out and replace them with a chin safe wood. Since he's young, he may be tasting everything in his environment to explore. I didn't check your other thread yet but if you gave us your location we can recommend some places to get great toys too.

Did the breeder give you any direction at all about what your new chinchilla will need?

I just pulled this from an old thread, here are some other sites I've done business with in the past. They have great chin-safe toys in wood and other textures. (Sorry for the emphasis on Mazuri...the owner was looking for that brand of food)

Quote:
USA SITES

http://www.chinworld.com/ (feed and accessories)
A very popular chin site and especially good for USA residents. Has 5 lbs of Mazuri for $3.50 and I seem to remember that shipping is reasonable. Also has a whole bunch of other goodies

http://www.chinchillacity.com/ (toys)
Located in MO. I got an order from her last week. I bought the palm tree, the carnival, the satellites, and the kaleidoscope. So far, the toys I gave were a hit. For any canadians, this merchant will ship SOME items to Canada. Just email her for info as her site won't allow canadian orders.

http://www.geocities.com/forchinatec...ncessories.htm (toys & food)
Located in OH and has Mazuri. Never ordered from them but have seen many people do so with good reviews. Has some chew items I've been considering for my next chin order. I like the fact that the proceeds of the sale go to helping chinchilla rescues.

http://www.chinstore.com/ (all kinds of stuff)
Located in Nebraska. Have not ordered from her either but has come HIGHLY recommended by many people. Has some really cool toys and treats...even a few human gifts that are really cool

http://www.mysticmosaics.org/photo5.html (supplies & food)
Located in Maryland. Haven't dealt with them either but they carry Mazuri for 0.75 per pound and have seen them active and selling on other forums.

CANADIAN SITES

http://www.freewebs.com/melbur10/ (toys)
Has some awesome perches and wood toys. I just got pear perches from her and they are great Located in Ontario.

http://www.freewebs.com/cuddlychins/ (toys)
Has some cool toys as well. I'm waiting for one of my orders to arrive as a matter of fact. Pretty sure she also ships to the USA.

http://www.ontariochinchillas.ca/ (all kinds of stuff)
Has some really nice supplies and toys. I order my dust and some toys through them.

http://www.chinchilla.ca/ (all kinds)
I get my feed, hay and oxbow treats from them. Really good service. I'm not too fond of some of the other products they offer since they are from brands I don't support but I figure if I support the brand I DO Like it might make a difference in the stock they eventually carry.

When i got home today... at around 6pm i noticed butter was hiding inside his little house... he never did that before... Do you think i messed up his schedule? because ever since i got him, i sleep pretty late at around 1am or 2am and the lamp was on... and when i woke up at around 8am... he came out to play with me for about an hour or so... do you think he is just tired? but usually when he sleeps he sleeps on top of stuff... he never slept inside the little wooden house... I'm starting to worry><

I wouldn't worry too much. He's probably getting used to his new home and discovered the hut. Unless you notice him being lethargic or inactive for longer than usual it should all be fine.

Glad you were able to use the sites. There are a lot of good chinnie supply sites out there. Your new baby will be very happy with his new stuff
