Hot Weather in B.C.

This hot weather is really worrying me.

Our chins do not like temps above 70 degrees. Thank goodness for air conditioners! I just put one in their room an hour ago and all four of our chins are perking up and finally acting like their old selves again.

This is the kind of weather we had in Oklahoma!
I can't believe we are having these temps in B.C.

Kathy - it's BOILING! I don't have my chinchillas anymore but I can tell you that I would be scrambling right now if I did. I used to live in a basement suite which stayed relatively cool - I am now in a south-facing apartment which has been at over 95 degrees day & night for 3 days.

I can't complain, though ... it's summer!

Can you freeze a waterbottle and put a towel or sock over it to help keep them cool too? I've done that when I had rats.

It's pretty hot & humid here as well. My chin chillers are getting lots of use these days.

I know freezing water bottles and using chin chillers is helpful, but my fur kids don't seem to like either. However, they are really digging their a/c!
