| Hazel is sad I think that Hazel is really missing Anya. Zoya seems to be in good spirits but Hazel is kind of moping around and is a bit more grumpy towards Zoya than she usually is. I checked her over and everything seems to be in order. She's eating normally, drinking, and pooping...but she's just not herself. Is there anything I can do to cheer her up or make the loss easier? |

| Awwww poor Hazel. Just give her as much attention as you can. It will take awhile for her to adjust to Anya being gone.

| I was going to say the same thing. Lots of love and cuddles will help. She needs some time to grieve as well so give her time and hopefully she'll feel better.
That's what happened with Jigsaw last year.

| It's so sad to watch Hazel. Zoya seems to be oblivious to the situation, though I know she's not, so I'm not too worried about her. Hazel isn't big on cuddles but I have been trying to pet her more and give her more attention by talking to her and giving her ear scratches. |

| I think you and Hazel are both grieving together, which is a good thing. Is Hazel sharing a cage with Zoya, or do they just share play time? If not, I know some people have added in stuffed animals for a cuddle buddy. I haven't tried that particular method, but I have done what you are doing, given more of my attention. Time may not heal all wounds, but it does make them less painful. My thoughts are with you.

| Yes, Colleen, Hazel and Zoya share a cage (which Anya used to be in as well). Hazel is the mother of both Zoya and Anya, so maybe that is why she's taking it so hard? |

| Aw, poor Hazel Hopefully time will help her. And she's still got Zoya to push around :P
Keep giving her a bit of extra attention and love. There's not much you can do beyond that, I'm afraid |

| Would it be callous to suggest getting another chin to introduce to them?

| Candice, I am sorry to hear Hazel is feeling the loss of Anya. When Chuckles passed away, Delilah was very sad and barely moved for a few days. Thankfully Hazel has Zoya to comfort her. I would pay extra attention to Hazel during this time.
I hope she feels better Candice. |

| No, I don't think that is callous.
I actually considered it but I feel that Hazel is missing Anya specifically, not just missing having another chin around. Does that make sense? |
