| Handheld steamer works wonders on cages!! I bought a steamer a while back and just now used it today. I am absolutely IN LOVE!!!
I was getting SO irritated with the way my wire cages were looking, no matter how much I scrubbed. I'm cleaning Praline's cage right now and it looks BRAND NEW!!
Anyone with a wire cage seriously needs to consider a steamer! I got the hand held Enviro Steamer Big Shot ... fantastic!! |

| Steph, do you need to take the cages outside to clean them? Do the chinnies need to be taken out of the cage when using it? |

| Definitely take the chins out, the steam is very hot. I've got my cage in my bathtub right now. It's steam only, so there are no harsh chemicals, no worrying that it'll hurt the chins. That and steam kills many germs, so I'm also disinfecting to a degree!
I also put some vinegar in a spray bottle first and doused the cage, to help break up the urine. |

| Actually I wound up putting the cage on a towel on the floor for easier access. I'd do it outside the chin room just because of the humidity, but the bathtub wasn't really necessary. |

| Probably for my monthly deep cleans. I think it'll also come in handy when Miss Praline decides to pee in one spot as usual and soaks that corner of wire. I'm so impressed too - I'm moving on to Audi's cage and was able to do Praline's entire cage (R-685 Martin's) with one tank of water. |

| My breeder has a steamer and speaks very highly of it and I have been planning on getting one too for my monthly cleanings (especially since I don't want to clean the cages outside in the winter). Once I save enough money, i will be getting one and I am glad that now I have two people raving about them. Thanks for the tip! |
