Dust Baths & Growling

Hi,

Just Wondering! How often does your chin get their dust baths? When I first got kuki she had it every day, but i noticed she was itching herself all over a lot so I did some research and thought her skin was drying out, so then I made it every 2 days. However, since her surgery, she's been getting them 1-2 times a day to help destress her and bribe her to take her medicine (teehee) and I've noticed her fur is a lot softer! But, is it healthy for them to bath too much? So far she hasn't been itching an insane amount, then again her left leg IS in a cast so it would be hard. Just wondering how often your chinnies bathe t'is all!

I'm actually also wondering if your chins ever "growl" ! lol it's SOOo cute! Before she broke her leg I would play this game with her where she'd chase a tissue I had in my hand, kind of like cat and mouse, but if I decided to make her work for it she'd make this little "grrrr i'ma get you mr. tissue!" type of sound when pouncing or chasing it was sooo adorable!

My chinnies bathe approximately every 3 days.. and they are always coming out with weird chatters between them but I'm sure they have made growl-like sounds at each other.

Did your vet OK dust baths for your chin so soon after surgery? Dust in her wounds could cause an infection so just wondering if he said it was ok.

Our girls get baths 2 or 3 times per week max. Too much more and their skin gets dried. Any less and their fur gets matty looking.

yeah the dressing they have on her leg (which they actually changed today) is pretty tight, and i asked and he said as long as it doesn't get wet it's fine. her leg is doing superwell, she's such a lil' trooper, its only on her stiches now so shes more combfortable but when they went to actually put it on (after taking the whole thing off) she went crazy like "NOOOOOOOoooooooooooo please don't not AGAIN!" and it was so cute 'cause eventually she just gave up and said "fine! get it over with you bums!"
