| Cub Update Well I took Cub to Parrots to Ferrets, & she is staying in the care of Dr Benoit overnight & getting dental surgery tomorrow. It costs $200, my bf is paying 1/2 as my bday gift.
Cub was all wild @ the vet & was snarling & attacking everyone. WE got her weighed (622 grams) & then Dr Benoit had a look @ her teeth. The results were not good.
On one side of her mouth, the teeth are worn down to stubs. On the other side, he suspects there are spurs. So she is getting anesthetized & filed/trimmed tomorrow a.m. & I will pick her up in the afternoon. Dr Benoit said that, @ age 2, Cub has the teeth of a 10-15 year old chilla.
There is no telling how often I will have to get her filed & trimmed under anesthetic. I could see once a year, but I can't afford any more frequent treatments & it would be putting her through too much stress.
Dr Benoit didn't say euthanasia, but he implied that this is the route that Cub would have to take sooner rather than later.

| Neuro, I am very sorry to hear about Cub. I can imagine how difficult this is for you knowing how much you care and love her. I understand why you wouldn't want to put her through this process more than once a year. At least you know you did the right thing for her now and take it one day at a time from here on out.
My thoughts are with you and Cub. |

| Thanks a lot Brandy. I really appreciate it. I almost cried right there in the examining room. My heart was sinking as he explained that there was little he could do but trim & file as needed. I think I am going to have to keep trying hays to help her teeth. I don't understand why one side is all ground down & the other isn't....

| Thanks pamm & Denise. Dr Benoit may do surgery but he needs to get her under anesthetic to see what needs to be done.

| Ahhh...I'm so sorry Neuro. Good thing that you got Cub in when you did. I hope that she feels better once she gets her teeth filed tomorrow. Hopefully you'll be able to find something that she likes to eat...
