i am going to be a new chin owner and i was wonderinghow much cages usually cost...and if you know any good websites for them....Thanks

Quality cages makes really nice chinchilla cages at a pretty reasonable price. Check out http://www.qualitycage.com/chinchilla.html

You could also do a search in the chin section for "melamine" and see some of the home built cages our members have. Those are pretty inexpensive to make if you are handy with tools.

With chinchillas, the bigger the better. They love to jump up on ledges and platforms. However, if you have a cage that is more than 3 feet tall, you will want a solid floor in the middle so as to avoid falls from too high if chinnie loses its footing. Also, you should go for solid floors over wire ones as wire can cause foot problems.

I have bought two cages from quality cages and was really happy with them, however we now build our own cages and like them alot better, we can design them the way you want them and they are more of what you want.
