Cleaning..........Pine???

How might one go about doing this? I just built Kuki a new cage, it's huge (4x4x2.5)feet and mainly pine. But I'm stumped on how to clean these new fantabulous pine shelves!

poor thing though i think she's lonely in that big cage all by her lil' self. i might have to get a friend for christmas

I used vinegar and water to clean the pine shelves. I also sand them down every now and then (maybe every other month) to freshen them up.

If they get really peed on and stained, take them out soak/wash in bleach and dish liquid. Rinse well, and sun dry when possible.
During the winter I use a hair dryer to dry them faster.
For daily cleaning I swipe all shelves with a wet cloth.

good news! clever lil' thang is only peeing on the bottom/ground level with the melamine surface where I put her litter tray with aspen

(and don't worry, she can't chew the melamine, all edges are covered )

Another good thing to use is full strength peroxide. It works great!
