It's very likely that could occur. Also, if your chin is being treated with cholorpalm, then it is obviously to treat illness/symptoms and that in itself could be the reason for appetite loss.

She basically has a cold, started as an eye infection and went into her sinuses. The vet said her lungs are crisp and clear, which is a good thing. She was still eatting pellets and hay and drinking before she was on the meds. Her eye and her nose have cleared up real well in the past 4 days, but for the past 2 days she wont eat.I have even tried to feed her critical, and she wont take it.I offered her some nutrical and a shredded wheat with some acidophilous on it,and she has taken that.

Very normal for chinnies to loose the appetite on any kind of meds. It might be upsetting her tummy but she will get her appetite once she's done the meds. I know Peeps would not touch her food at all when she was on Baytril.

Make sure your chin is getting good bacteria in (acidophilus is fine). The medication is probably killing all good bacteria in her gut in addition to the bad stuff in her body and making her feel not so great. It's ok for now but if you give her some good bacteria to replace what's getting killed, it should help her feel a bit better.

Check out www.cachins.org. I believe there is a section on antibiotics and what to do for your pet while they are on them.

I have also noticed my chins appetite decrease when on Chlor Palm so I think it is pretty normal. Giving the probiotics about 2-3 hours after their meds is a really good idea

A couple of my chins went off food when they were on Chlor Palm..most were fine though, it didn't seem to bother them.
