Chinchilla house/hidey space size?

Buddy's current house is huge and is taking too much cage space, so we're going to be building him a new house in the next couple of days. How big should the house be? How big are all of your houses?

Yeesh, how can people go around ignoring your post like this? I think my single chin houses are 6x6x8? I can measure for sure if you like. My 'usual' houses are 10x10x8

Yeah, that was kind of weird!

Thanks, but there's no need to measure. We ended up just attaching some wood to the side of a shelf to make a pseudo house - we were tired after redoing the cage and didn't really have the tools to make a proper house.

OMG! I completely forgot to measure my hut and post here! Saturday was not a good sanity day

I think the hut I use is 5 inches high by 7 deep and close to 20 wide. I'm really not sure though. even though it's plenty big, the girls still fight daily for the best spot
