chin shows

Are there any chin shows for Canadian chins around Vancouver, BC? How does one find out about them and get involved?

To my knowledge, there aren't even any chin shows in Canada yet. You wold have to go to the USA to find any. I guess your closest bet may be Seattle.

Well, can you enter Canadian chins in US shows, then? Or even just to attend would be a great learning experience.

Maybe some of the people who have been to american shows can help you out with that question. I'm not really sure

So, no one else wants to talk about shows, eh? Afraid of the competition, are we?...

Just teasing!

hi Kristine,
I don't think they have many (if any) chin shows in Western Canada but I think there are some still in the Ontario area. Some of us are looking into starting our own Western Canadian chapter of the MCBA which could involve shows. This is still only in the possible planning stage right now though.
There are a number of chin shows just across the border from you in the States. I would ask someone like Amanda of Meadowbrook Chins about them.

Actually we are hoping to have a show in Nov. http://www.ontariochinchillas.ca/meetings.html but unfortunatly I am not going to Ohio, so I will miss the meeting!! I'm sure they will update once the details are set. Though I realise it's a little far for you to go

We have included South Western Canada in our NorthWest MCBA Chapter and are looking forward to involving people from Canada in the shows, field days and meetings.
At our board meeting last month we discussed our first show, which will be towards the end of Feb., and making sure that there will be a way for Canadian ranchers/breeders to have access to an airport. The first show will be in Boise most likley. There was also talk of an area meeting up in N. West Washington so that you guys can come down.
Hopefully, then you guys will be able to start your own mcba branch up there.
