| You own a chinchilla and you don't know their dietary requirements? |

| I know what you mean - moss?? Does moss really sound appetizing? Then again, I don't really think chin pellets look that great either. I'd also never heard of anyone giving frozen fruit to their pet chins. |

| Just because something is on one site doesn't make it true. The key with anything, is to research it once you find out something new. They are a little too generous with their 'captive chinchilla diet" (cookies????). As for the wild diet, they are herbavours and do eat plant material in their area, though I would imagine moss is not common. Grasses, some root matter and the fleashier plants for water consumption. |

| I would also caution that pet chinchillas are very different from wild chinchilla and probably couldn't handle the same foods that the wild ones can handle.

| Yeah - you can't trust most of what you read. I was wondering if anyone else had ever heard of frozen fruit - not that I think it's a good idea. After all, my first chin book shows the chins munching on a whole peach - I wonderred how they could research a whole book and be that far off on diet. |

| I've given Buddy frozen raisins. They don't really freeze that well though...
