| Behavior question I'm attempting to intro Audi and Praline and it isn't going well. Tonight while out playing Audi decided to go after Praline. I snatched her off in time to avoid injury but Praline slipped some fur. Audi promptly picked up the fur and ate it!! Ideas?
I gave her a piece of papaya to avoid a GI issue but I'm stumped as to why she'd do that!! |

| Hmmm... I've never seen that! Mine do their best to get all the fur out of their mouth after they've had a tiff
I wonder if that's one way of showing dominance??? |

| I've seen my boys eat the other's fur lots of times. And not only when they pull it out, but if they come across a piece that is just laying around they'll pic it up and start nibbling. |

| I have seen my chinnie pairs eat each others fur....especially when introducing the mating pairs. I just gave them some papaya and they have always been fine. If I see them trying to eat the chunk of fur, i try to get most of the fur out of their mouths before they consume it all. I wish I knew why they did it too....its not like they do it all the time (acutally I haven't seen them do it since I introduced them) but it would be interesting to find out why. |

| Yes this has happened here on several occaisions. It appears to be the females that do this more when introducing them to a male, but it seems to be isolated only to introductions. I had one female who did this on the five occaisions I tried to introduce her to a male. Everytime she would chase him around the cage, grab a fistful of fur and then promptly eat it, needless to say the intro was cut short.
I think this may be a dominance issue1

| I've seen something similar between two males upon introduction. I just made sure to give everyone petromalt that night.
