Baxter's thread

The other thread was getting kind of long so I thought I would start a new one. Some progress was made tonight between Baxter and I! He is still a bit hesitant coming to me but tonight he crawled on my arm and nuzzled my nose and took off. I can tell he wants cuddles from me but he is still upset with me for giving him his eye medication.

His eye looks better than last night which is encouraging. The outer area is still swollen and pink but he isn't squinting or scratching as much as last night.

Thanks for all your kind words and support. Baxter is such a special little guy and I adore him so much.

I'm glad to hear that Baxter is slowing getting back to his old snuggly self and that his eye is getting better too

I know you were worried that he might hold a grudge but it sounds like he has almost forgiven you

That is great news Denise! I have a feeling that if you give it a day or two more, Baxter will get over his grudge and come back to being a cuddle bug

Lisa, I know I have neglected taking pictures. I get caught up in so many other things pictures are the last thing on my mind. I will get around to them eventually.

As some of you may or may not have read, it turns out Baxter has a touch of fungus that was brought on by stress. It is a minor case and involves his ears and left eye. I am putting Tinactin in his dustbath and see if there is an improvement. I also put a chamomile tea bag on his eye last night to soothe it and it appears as though it helped. His appetite is good and he seems to be in good spirits which is important.

As for his behaviour towards me, he is still skeptical of my motives because everytime I have contact with him, I am doing something to his ears and eye. Oh well, I am sure he will eventually come around. It is more important for him to get well than for him to like me right now.

Poor Baxter!

Denise, how on earth did you get a chamomile tea bag to stay on his eye? Did you just hold it on for a few minutes?

Hope he's all better soon!!
