Oh my goodness, I am SOOOOOOOOO frustrated right now

Okay, first of all - I forgot to do up the latch in Ginger & Josie's cage, so Ginger goes MIA. I finally find her and put her back in the cage, where Josie promptly attacks her

They've always gotten along SO well!!

So then I start this whole cage rearranging process. It's already 12:15 a.m. and I just want to get to bed!!! So I decide to try to pair Freddy & Ginger permanently (they've been playing together peacefully for quite a while) but I have to find them a neutral cage. So -

Josie moves into Freddy & the boys' cage.

Freddy moves in to Cinnamon's old cage with Ginger.

The boys move in with Cinnamon, and they all move into Ginger & Josie's old cage.

Are you confused yet?

Then, in all the confusion, Ginger escapes AGAIN and it takes me another hour and a half to catch her. She was hiding under my bed and REFUSED to come out. The poor girl was scared to death ... she "honked" for at least 45 minutes

I finally resorted to removing my mattress & box spring and then just chasing her around the room.

All is peacefully for the moment, but I am worried that it will not stay that way. I think it's going to be a LONG night

I just want to sleep!!!!!!!!

It always amazes me how such small creatures can give us so much joy and so much frustration.

Seems like when one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong in the same day (trust me, I know). I hope all is peaceful now in your home.

I woke myself up every 45 minutes or so to make sure that everybody was still getting along

I've got to leave in a few minutes, but I hope to have a nap when I get back home

Everything seems quite peaceful ... Josie is sulking in her house and Ginger & Freddy are keeping their distance, which is fine with me. I think the babies squeaked so much that they lost their voice

Now I need to take Cracker to the vet because I think she has a minor eye infection

Her eye itself looks fine ... it's not even red, but the fur around her eye seems matted down and almost like some is missing, so I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Lisa, that sounds like what Baxter has!

The surrounding area of his eye is pink though. It looks like I will be taking him to the vet afterall. Randy Jagielo said he may have come down with a touch of fungus and I think he is right. Fungus can be caused by stress and it is ironic his eye flared up right after I introduced him to Griffin. I will be putting Tinactin powder in their dustbath until I take him to the vet. Lucky for me, Griffin does not have any signs of it. What a pain but i know it isn't the end of the world.
