5 New chins coming March 12th!

How did I manage to get 5? How did I manage especially getting my mom to let me get 5? Well...
My friend (Leesburg Chins-in VA) told me there was a guy who emailed her asking for help. He had let his male and female chin out for playtime together and she "accidentally" got pregnant. She is a standard gray and got pregnant with a standard gray. Therefore all the kits are standard gray. I don't know whether they are males or females yet though. They were born on February 24th 2005.
I told him he should start supplementing them with kitten milk formula with a dropper and everything and he said he got it and is going to do it.
He is actually the kind of person that cares about him animals, but doesn't at the same time.
Because he lives 6 hours away, so we're talking a 12 hour round-trip. :eek7: And he said he will drop them off March 12th. He asked me when would be good and I said March 12th because he wants to get rid of them, but I didn't think that long of a car ride would be good any earlier than that. He didn't even ask if I could meet anywhere or anything. (Which I wouldn't of been able to anyway...because of my stubborn mom.) He also did not ask me any money for them. I did offer money for gas though if he wants it. And he did email her asking for help. So...It's just here is where he doesn't care...
He said he doesn't want to care for them, and doesn't know how so he thinks pet stores DO. He was going to give them to a pet store if he couldn't find someone else to take them. I'm just glad they're coming with me. I have the kitten formula and droppers all ready for them to supplement! I am considering them Rescues.
It'll be fun to have babies again, my last litter was September 26th 2004.
How I got my mom to let me take them...
She said once she saw that some chinchillas were gone, as in, at a new home I could get her and her kits. Well one of my 2 best friends, Maria was supposed to take Blizzard and AJ home about 2 months ago. I told her she didn't have to pay me the $130.00 (for them (White Mosaic & Standard), 3 level cage, wheel, dust bath house, and other accessories) until whenever she had it, whether it was a year from now or whatever. She kept getting the money, but then spending it on her hair, nails, junk! (IMO) lmao. So now they have a great home, right around the corner! And now I get to help these 5 chins!

And now that those 2 are gone, my mom is letting me get a couple more chins possibly seeing they will be females going in with some of the males I have--not making any mre cages.
1 of which including an extra dark ebony female I might get from Blue Heaven Chins in Toronto, Canada.

As always I will try and get pictures, and I will post pictures, weights, etc. Everytime I try putting pics. on my site, my mom's comp. freezes!

I thought you were just in the process of downsizing. Why on earth are you taking in more animals after you just got rid of so many?

Corina, are you saying that you will not be quaranteening these chinchillas or taking the time to introduce them properly? That should take a MINIMUM of 4 weeks, assuming they all love each other right away (highly doubtful) ... In the meantime, you'll need cages, won't you?

Right, so you're remembering that you must pay shipping fees, you'll have to get a health certificate to ship across the border (usually a $40 minimum), you'll have to pay for the shipping crate, and you'll have to pay duty on the international shipment. Curious, since in this thread you refuse to pay more than $100 for a bearded dragon, INCLUDING shipping ...

Iam not going to be keeping all these kits. I am going to be adopting out every one of these kits and possibly the mother. There was no way I wanted these little guys to go to a pet store (Especially at only a few days old! ) when I could do something to help.
I am downsizing CAGES. This will just be a temporary cage...
And I was selling some males chins (I have sold all the males I planned on selling) because there was more cages when I had male chins.
Nemo is for sale though because I have planned on selling her all along...she was a baby born here that just hasn't been sold yet (due to people 3 times saying they sent a deposit, but yet it's funny how I never got it. When they said they sent the deposit I took her off the for sale list for 2 weeks each time...)
I currently have 2 single males...So I am looking for females for them. That will also make no new cages.

I love how everyone jumps to things instead of asking questions...
If you want to find out more about that read my "explainations" above.

Corina, we're "jumping" rather than asking because we've asked many times before in several different threads. Your answers either aren't consistent or they don't adequately address the situation.

Sorry, my fault ... I don't have your home address so I just assumed that if you were getting a chinchilla from another country you'd have to ship it. Either way, you'll have to pay for a health certificate and probably a duty fee. I've dropped chinchillas off at the border before, I know how it works.

So let me get this straight : you have enough EXTRA cages right now that you'll be able to safely quaranteen your 5 new chinchillas, and then whenever you find the females you want to breed with your males, you have ANOTHER 2 EXTRA cages for quaranteening them?

Yes. I do not plan on getting the 2 males females until everything is settled with these new 5. The mom and her 4 kits...
I have 8 cages. 2 that are empty.

Corina, I think it is very sweet that you didn't want to have these kits sent to a petstore. However, are you ready for more mayhem in your house? It seems like you have so many animals already, and must be constantly changing things around to handle all the furry friends you have now. How do you keep up with it all? You must have a very supportive and understanding mother.

It'll work out fine. Mayhem? There's no mayhem here...
I have enough cages, and plenty enough supplies, my sister shares my closet (in my bedroom) because her's (in her room//animal room) is filled with supplies, extra houses, dishes, etc.
My sister and I take care of the pets, and sometimes my mom's boyfriend's daughter (who was courtstarbabe48) will help us clean cages, feed, and everything...
I have a lot of extra time...Even after taking care of all the pets and giving them all attention. That's why I'm always on the comp. on animal forums! And usually while I'm on the comp., I'm holding one of my pets, one's on my lap, or on my shoulder, etc.
