Very interesting. But I had a cat that was crazy about fruit. How would they explain that?

Hmmm, I'd have to answer a resounding NO! to that question. B.B. will eat just about anything and lives for food. She may not like sweets, but anything with cream cheese, milk or cheese and she begs in overdrive. (of course she doesn't get any, but you can just tell that she is putting out a little extra effort for foods she prefers).

I'm not sure how a lack of tastebuds for sweets explains finicky eating behavior. There are kitties that turn their noses up at foods that don't have any sugar. For example, my kitty won't eat any kind of fish, including tuna.

I heard on the TV show "Good Dog" that dogs can't taste sweet things too. Is this true, if so, why do they have chocolate flavoured treats for dogs? Or is that just for us Moms to think we're treating them?
