Watering eye...

My brother's white calico cat's right eye is constantly watering...her left eye is fine, though...the right eye simply tears up and the tears seep out and dampen the fur around her eye...does anyone know what's going on??? should we be worried???

Is the cat long haired? And has the cat been to a vet yet? There may be a scratch on the cornea, or an eye infection. I would be concerned about these because the problem seems to be localized to one eye.

I would definitely check with the vet to rule out anything that needs to be treated medically.
