the new foster kitty

i thought i posted this days ago, but i guess i did not, or it did not take...something. anyway...

My daughter brought this little one home. A friend of my daughter's had company and the guy told her that he needed a home for her since he could not take care of her. They were his sister's kittens from her Siamese and she gave them all away. The mother was also given away, so no chance of reuniting them. He said she told him they were weaned, but this one will not eat. I tried kitten food crushed, wetted, and warmed and even canned..she licks but does not eat. har told him her mom could take care of it and brought it home. That is my foot she is sitting on. She is tiny. The pics are with my cam phone since the digi drowned. She meows pretty much constantly, the most piteous cry. All she wants me to do is lay with her. Ms deshie, the rat/guinea pig/hedgie/ferret/and-every-other-creature-in-the-world lover will not have anything to do with her! I am borrowing my daughter's cam until I get a new one, and it takes awesome pics so I will send in some more tomorrow.

Oh, in case you are wondering, she is legal because she is under a year. The law is written that way for kittens born to your cat...but I am gonna take advantage of it until I get her totally weaned and can find her a home or move and can keep her.

Poor little love! She is so tiny! Isobel was at the weaned stage when we found her but living outside she didn't get much chance of solid food, so I had to give her formula at first and it took her a long time to figure out how to eat - she used to stick her face right into the food and suck it up, poor little love!

I think it's prolly a bylaw that sets the amount of animals you are allowed to have. In some parts of Ontario you're only allowed to have a total of four - could be two cats and two dogs, or three cats and one dog, etc.

What a cutie! I'm sure once she gets old enough she won't have any problem finding a home! Who could resist that face?

We finally got Titus weaned by crushing the kitten kibble, mixing in minced chicken and KMR. She's very sweet- I am a sucker for kitten faces.

actually, i thought i had told you all what happened. i got turned in for too many cats and had to place 3...well, they are actually just being fostered til i move. inside camdenton city limits, we are allowed 3 dogs and 3 cats and no crossing that barrier like not 4 dogs and 2 cats, or 5 cats and one dog. 3 and 3 period. however, i got to keep 5 cats because pheobe is 16 and would be put to sleep immediately if they sheltered her and she has health problems and it is best for her to be here and army is the girl with cancer in her nose and sinuses and her life expectancy is not long so she also would be put to sleep as well so the animal officer just said for me to never tell anyone i ahve them and she would rip up thier paperwork. but the law also allows for kittens under a year so she is legal for now.

lord, she is such a brat! she climbs all voer me, sleeps on my foot wth ehr paws locked around my ankle when i am on the computer, and steals everything she can. charlie thinks she is his, he carries her around and grooms her. oh, and one of my ferrets picked her up and carried her off and was shakingher like a dog with a rope toy, so they are restricted!

She's gorgeous I hope she starts eating properly soon!

I can't believe someone would tell on you for having too many cats! Shame on them. I don't care what the law says - it's stupid!! As long as you care for your pets, there should be no problems. Also dumb to say you can have 3 dogs and 3 cats and not a combination! I can't see why 4 cats and 2 dogs would be a problem...
