| My Miss Brown Kitty has kidney desease... Went to my vet today because she hasnt been feeling good and stopped most of her eating, she usually has a healthy appetite. She has been drinking a lot of water too. He ran some blood tests and they were not good for kidney problems. She was just there in February for her yearly check and shots, and her blood test showed a little elevated signs, and i tried to start her on k/d food from the vet, but she didnt much care for the taste, but she was eating and behaving fine till about 10 days ago. He started her on some fluid shots, and i am going back for the next 3 days for more each morning and also gave her some medicine for nausea so maybe she will start eating again and feeling better. Only k/d food can food. But she isnt feeling well at all. I feel so bad for her. She is so sweet. The vet told me kidney problems are bad, which I already knew. Please keep good thoughts for her. This is a picture of her, if you can see it. Its the first time I tried to post a picture. I hope somehow she can get back to a stage where we can manage it somehow. I can't find how to post a pic..sorry. |

| Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that! You and your vet are right...kidney problems are not usually good. But there are a lot of cats that manage quite well. Are you able to get any other kind of prescription food, like Walthams, Eukanuba, etc? Perhaps she will eat those?
I will be thinking of you and Miss Brown Kitty! |

| I have tried to give her 2 flavors of k/d, and also tried a little fancy feast, which she was eating before this, but she doesnt want any of it. I hope things get better tomorrow after another fluid injection and a few more doses of the anti nausea medicine i have to give her. Thanks for your thoughts. |

| Miss Brown Kitty had to go to the emergency vets late last night. She was so weak she just laid belly down on the floor and could not get up. They gave her a vitamin shot and a potassium pill, and she slept ok thru the night back at my house. She had her fluids this morning at my regular vets. She has actually eaten 5 times, a little at a time, today, and drank some water, and peed in her pan 3 or 4 times.. But she is so weak. She cant walk more than a few steps and then has to sit or lay down for a bit before moving again. She almost fell getting in her pan. She goes in for another fluid injection in the morning. They also found a heart murmur. She still purrs up a storm when I talk and pet her. She is such a good kitty. I put the spare bedroom mattress directly on the floor so she can get on it easily and can look out the window while laying there, my windows in the front start about 10 inches off the floor. She has a couple of blankets to curl up in if she wants. I am trying to make her as comfy as possible. I slept on the floor last night next to the mattress in case, and will do so again tonight. Along with my other kitty Barney, of course. It breaks my heart how fast this is affecting her. Anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions maybe I havent heard from my vet? Thanks to everyone for letting me ramble. |

| Aww, I'm so sorry that she is sick. I don't have a ton of experience with CRF but maybe you should try The Cat Site. It is dedicated to cats and there are some very knowledgeable people over there. |

| Update on Miss Brown Kitty She has been in the hospital since last night. She is undergoing 48 to 72 hours of iv liquids and potassium, I think. There is so much going on. I have to bring her to the emergency hospital for night care, and one of her vets for day care, because she needs constant supervision because of her heart murmur and taking the iv. I hope this helps her lower her bad numbers and increase the good ones. I am about to go over to the Emergancy clinic to see her and tell her goodnight. I need all the good thoughts anyone can send. |
