re

All of these cats were strays. Bud found me when I first moved to California after college (holy crud that's a long time ago!), Maddie was rescued by a friend, and Petunia was found under a dumpster by my husband. Since being rescued they have all lived indoors. They have been given good quality food, but not special food until about the last five years, now they get Iams Lamb n Rice dry food and the two girls get a little Iams canned food in the morning. The two girls are going downhill - they are both very saggy and boney. Maddie's digestion is horrible. Bud on the other hand looks great. He decided to become portly in his old age, and looks like he will outlive the girls.

I would say the secret has been indoor living. I haven't done anything else special!

that is so awesome that you took in the lost and lonely kitties.. too many times I see people going and getting fresh new kitties.. (no offense) but there are kitties out there that need homes too. a friend from work wanted a couple of female kittens so bad.. but she refused to go to the humane society to get a kitten.. who knows why?!?!?! we found Aspen too. hes a good boy!!! we love him to pieces..

Our cat Mittens, came from a farm when she was just a tiny kitten.
If we hadn't saved her she would have been... I hate to say this... but drowned!!!
She is a good cat, although overweight since we had her fixed several years ago. She is on diet cat food, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference!!
I and my kids are glad that we rescued her!!
