| Jenna or Suzoo..I need help with a stray cat Hi everyone,
A stray black long haired cat was crying at the back door. I let it in to get some water and food into it. It must have been owned by someone else. Its claws are gone and it is a very skinny and mild mannered cat. It also passed the vaccum noise test. I need to do something for it. I am trying to get it to eat....any suggestions??? it only wants to come in and sleep. It will sleep on anyone. The cat looks very depressed. What should I do? Drop it off at the SPCA and have them help it? I can't take it in because I don't live alone and my parents don't want another cat. I've had 2 strays in the past. I need help in figuring out what to do about Jasper the black cat...I think its less than 1 year old.

| Hi everyone,
I had to syringe some water into its mouth and then I gave it a bit of Nutri-cal....I also phoned the vet and they think its sick and the best thing to do is take the cat to the SPCA.

| The best thing is to take it to your SPCA.
They might have someone who has reported him lost.
Hopefully they will medicate him & he'll find a new home... if not claimed that is.
What you could do also, is put up lots of Found Cat flyers in the area so if someone owns him (or knows who does) will know where to go get him. Put the phone # of the SPCA on the flyers.
Some newspapers offer free Found Pet Ads.. that may help as well.

| Poor guy. He sounds very sick. Most importantly is to get him hydrated- they would likely give him subq fluids at the SPCA. I would at least call them and see if they can help him. I don't have any experience with them, but understand they at least try unlike other so-called humane organizations. Good luck little black kitty- and thanks, Red, for looking out for him! |
