I'm having a bit of a problem.

We are going away for a week and a half on Thursday and the cats are staying home.

This is the first time that they will stay home alone (they are usually boarded or stay with family). My parents, particularily my mom, will be over every day to keep them company and check on them for a couple hours a day.
My question is about the thermostat. It is programmed right now to be on for a short while in the morning and then turn on again before we get home from work. The cats are on a pretty normal schedule. They sleep with us, get up in the morning, play, and then are ready to go back to bed for the day once we leave for work. They wake up again when we get home and are awake until we go to bed.
I was thinking about turning the heat down to minimum while we are gone but I'm afraid the cats will be cold.

Their schedule is going to be totally thrown off so the normal thermostat schedule isn't going to do anything either. Am I crazy? Has anyone else pondered this?
