going insane

okay we moved into our new house on May 27th, from that day forward the cats were turned into housecats,. ,,no more outside what so ever,.,,,

this last 4 days Kody decided he wants to start going outside again,,,of course we dont let him, he just meows at the door and we ignore him and adventually he gives up,,,so the last few mornings Ive woken up to find cat poop right beside my washer ,,I assumed it was Kody, but didnt have any proof so I ignored it and figured hes upset, he will adventually stop,,,

WELL just now he was upstairs meowing at the door, I ignored him but then I turned around to look at him and he squatted and started peeing right there , I picked him up and was going to run him to the litter box but he didnt stop, he continued to pee as I was holding him,,,this is the FIRST time hes peed on the floor,,,he does have a bad habit of peeing on dirty clothes in the bathroom if you leave them on the floor,,but never the bare floor,,,

Im starting to get at my wits end,,,when will he be over his mood??? hopefully SOON!!!!!!!!

Is he neutered?

It could be a urinary tract infection or crystal deposits in his bladder. Usually when cats pee outside the litterbox, it is an indication of illness or it is territorial marking.

yes Kody is fixed

and if it continues he will go to a vet but Im 99% positive that hes peeing because hes upset, I should be specific,,,,Kody will only pee on wet dirty towels,,and only if left on the bathroom floor,,lol,,,,,that doesnt bother me it just reminds me to pick up my towels and he stops,,,

Kody is a picky picky litter box cat,,I didnt realize this until we started keeping him in the house since he always used outside as his litter box in the apartment,,,he really hates the litter box and will NOT go in if its even the littlest bit dirty, he will stick his head in, if it stinks he backs back out,,LOL,,,,,,

today he meowed at the door and I ignored him so i think he peed because he wanted to go outside to use the bathroom, I wouldnt let him so he was upset and peed right there,,,,hes not spraying or straining and his urine isnt bigger than normal, theres no discoloration or smell to it,,,,but I will keep an eye on him,,,but if it is him being moody,,,I hope it doesnt last long

Kaymen our female will poop on the floor or bathtub when shes upset,,,when we brought the baby home she pooped on the floor twice but we just gave her lots of extra attention and she seemed to snap out of it,,but it could also be her thats been pooping on the basement floor I suppose? or maybe they are both upset becuase of the baby???

Well they have been through a lot - new house, new baby, no more outside..... it does sound like a mood thing. Even though I ended up getting two litterboxes, Sadie does still have accidents if she gets stressed out. Hopefully it will pass. I sympathise!!

Hey Brandy:

Since Kody's bladder was full when you picked him up that time, and he kept peeing even while you picked him up, I suspect he wanted to go outside to pee! Maybe if he starts yowling to go outside, you can show him his litterbox to remind him there's a place inside for him to do that kind of business. Just a thought!

Maybe put a 2nd litterbox somewhere close to the door.. that way it is very close when you want to show him where you want him to do his business..
