| This thread is so old I had to go back to see what picture I was commenting on..
I like those Soft Paws.. so fashionable! Thats what I'd use on my cats if I cared at all about my furniture (which I don't)..

| hehe i think pepper just looks so cool with hers. she got a few of them off, since it was the first application, so she has half purple and half pink now!
she's always had a problem retracting her claws, i don't know if she just never figured out quite what it was all about, or just forgets how to do it, or what, but she would get hung up all over the place, jumping off the bed, her claw would hang on the bedspread, i found her dangling from the bird cage one time (it was a 6' x 5' flight cage for my finches, huge contraption..) and this has totally cured that problem lol...shoot, before she could hardly walk across the carpet without getting caught |

| My Mother-in-law had hers declawed when she had him neutered, I have him now.
He never had a hitch, and still scratches just with out the damage.
I don't understand what the problem is, unless your cat is a roamer, and needs them to defend himself.
Mine never leaves the house. |

What is about humans that we have to maim and mutilate animals to suit our convenience?!
In case anyone is interested, here are some good sites explaining about declawing and why it's cruel: http://www.declawing.com/htmls/declawing.htm http://www.theanimalspirit.com/declaw.html http://community-2.webtv.net/zuzu22/STOPDECLAWCOM/
This bit (from the first site) really hit home for me, because I'd always poo-pooed the notion of declawing being cruel because I'd known declawed cats who suffered no ill effects: Quote: | The fact that many cats recover from the hideous experience of declawing without untoward effects, and even though they may not hold grudges, that doesn't seem sufficient justification for putting a family member through such a repugnant experience. In short, a declawed cat is a maimed, mutilated cat, and no excuse can justify the operation. Your cat should trust you, and depend upon you for protection. Don't betray that trust by declawing your cat. |
