Cats disappear from village homes in North Yorkshire The RSPCA is looking into whether a catnapper is responsible for the disappearance of cats from a North Yorkshire village.
Six pets have gone missing from two streets in Slingsby, Ryedale.
Two of the animals have been found dead, and one is thought to have been poisoned. Another was found in York, more than 20 miles away.
RSPCA officer Mark Gent said: "There's no way it could have got that far on its own."
He appealed for anyone with information to contact the RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999.
The cats all disappeared from homes in Sycamore Close and Porch Farm Close.
Mr Gent said: "Obviously cats roam by nature, but the fact that all of these animals have vanished from the same couple of streets could be considered unusual, and I am keen to hear from anyone who thinks they know anything about it."
