The cat and the rat!

I've given up spraying Scamp when he gets near the rats....he's just gonna have to learn the hard way *L*

I'm watching you!

Come on!, I'll have ya!

Stare down

Come on, just try it!

Told ya! (Scamp nursing a nipped paw)

Cute rat! What's her name? I had two rats who would rush to the side of the cage and practically throw themselves against the bars, trying to get the cats as they walked by. Freaked the cats out, I can tell you. Lili Lambkins once reached out, grabbed Isobel's tail (when she was a tiny kitten) and tried to pull her into the cage!

I've had two kittens since we first started keeping rats- they will learn, I promise! Titus was the first kitten- and some of you might remember- Owen the rat bit him on the ear when he was about 4 weeks old. He never went near a rat cage again. James Tucker is the new cat- and just getting out of kittenhood when he came- but Chester (Owen's brother) taught him one day not to walk across the top of a rat cage. It took Ginia and I both to make Chester let go of James Tucker's toe. Luckily, it wasn't hurt badly- just a nice hard ratty pinch. My older cats have never even thought of going near a rat cage. They were all very protective of Titus and after seeing him dangled by his ear I think they ALL got the message!

Funny though that Natalie (dog) never learns. Tater got her on the nose AGAIN tonight. I can't tell you how many times Chester has bitten her on the tongie from her trying to lick him through the cage.

*LOL*

My older cat wont go near the cage...she sits WAY back and hisses at them..

The dog, well he's hopeless....he's been got on the nose a few times but he keeps going back for more, and Champers is quite happy to give it to him!
