Can I teach my cat.....

.....to clean his bum? Artemis doesn't seem to ever clean his bum. He'll bathe himself everywhere else, but not his bum. I'm not sure if it's because he has so much poop on his bum because of his no tail problem....could that be why? And if not, is there any way I can teach him to groom his butt?

Can he reach around that far?

Maybe he's just not used to cleaning his bum?

I think he can reach. He's a little overweight, but not a whole lot. He can reach around to clean the upper part of his back legs so I don't see why he couldn't reach his bum.

neuroleptical is an unknown quantity at this point
My roommate had a cat like this.... I would definitely try feeding something that produces firmer stools. There really shouldn't be feces all over your cats butt unless there is something wrong...... Hank grooms herself but I almost never see her spending time on her butt because it is a low maintenance cat butt, due to her diet......
