No, it is pretty much the same. She seems more sensitive about it and if anything it seems like it is more crusty (higher off the skin, but not bigger in area). She wouldn't drink her water with the apple cider vinegar in it. I haven't tried it topically. She has her vet appointment Monday Oct 8th so I will see what the vet says then. Thanks for asking, Sue!

Just back from the vet. He thinks it is a scratch or sore that she continuously irritates by rubbing or scratching at it. He asked if she was in a fight with another cat. I said no, but after I said it I realized it could be a scratch from Toffee (ferret). Not that they fight, but occasionally they will tussle a bit. Or it is from that collar from months ago and she just keeps it irritated by scratching at it. I don't know. He flicked the crusty part off with his flea comb and it bled a little. He prescribed Tessaderm- it is a mixture of antibiotic solution with an anti-inflammatory drug. We store it in the refrigerator. I have to drop that on the area and rub it in 2-3 times a day for 10 days. The vet did not seem concerned at all about it. So we'll see how it looks after a few days and go from there. So good news, I guess!

Glad to hear it doesn't seem to be considered serious.

That's a relief! I glad it wasn't anything too serious.

I have been putting the solution on faithfully three times a day and honestly it doesn't look any different. I hope it improves otherwise that might not be what it is. (personally I did not think it was any type of infection, but I am not a vet- just a nurse)
