Albino Kittens

I am writing in hopes that someone, anyone has information or pricing on Albino kittens. My cat had 4 siamese albino kittens last week, 2 have pale pink eyes, one has bright red eyes, and one has a bright blue eyes. We believe that the one with blue eyes is deaf, and all of them are extremely sensative to light. We know that they are indoor cats and go for anywhere from 2-4000 dollars. If you have information on these cats, please either email me or call me at (506 662 4975). Thank you very much.

Breeding and selling cats whilst thousands of cats are being killed in shelters each day for lack of homes is immoral and unethical.

I suggest you have your cats altered and treasure them as valued companions, not breeding machines that provide humans with profits.

It wasn't a planned event, however it happened, and now we have 4 extremely rare albino kittens that have to have homes, so unless your opinion is a constructive one, please do not reply at all. Thank you.

More recently an Albino Siamese has been bred, though only time will tell if it will be perpetuated as a breed. It is a completely white Siamese-type cat with bluish-pink eyes (true "pink eyes" are uncommon due to the physical structure of a cats' eyes).

Albinism is not linked to deafness in cats ("dominant white" is the gene linked to deafness).

That came from this link- http://www.messybeast.com/whitecat.htm

And there are a lot more out there on the subject. I do not think you have what you think you have- unless the parents are papered, and you can link them to other recorded albinos from the line, you are not going to be making a fortune off these.

Another note- ALL white cats need to be indoors fulltime- not just albinos. Skin cancer is not fun or pretty.

Wanted to add- you would have to have the parents and the kittens DNAd to prove parentage- which for dogs (which is my only experience with DNAing) costs $80+ for each pet. Best to spend that on getting them all spayed and neutered.

I would concentrate on finding the right homes that can deal with a special needs animal and not be thinking about making money off these kittens.

Then I suggest that you have your cat altered before such an accident occurs again. Spaying in many cases prevents cancer in females and eliminates the stress of continual pregnancy and delivery for the female cat. It really is in her best interests to be spayed.

Because you have what you think are extremely rare cats that need homes does not mean that you can/should sell them at a profit. Since this was an unplanned pregnancy that could have been avoided if you'd had your cat altered, it is my personal opinion that your first concern should be finding loving and safe homes for these kittens, not calculating their monetary worth.

Since your inquiry has to do with pricing and selling of kittens and not general health/behavioural questions, please do not make such posts in the general cat section but instead use the 'Classified Ads' section estabished for your purposes. Thank you.

I am more concerned for the health of these cats, and since there is an extreme lack of information on them, I was hoping to get more answers than a fight, but thanks again for yet again another pointless reply

Have you consulted a vet to see what he thinks in regards to their health and possible rarity? I hope everything works out for them and you.

Mobileman, I've called vets all over canada and none of them have even seen one, I'm waiting to hear back from one in NJ and one in Colorado, hopefully, I can get some useful information from one of them, but the kind we have, as far as we can figure out so far, was last recorded back in 1980, so I have a feeling that we're in for a lot of time and research into these little critters. Thank you for your concern tho, it's greatly appreciated.
