| Advise Needed: Goldie's Eye Noticed today when I got home that Goldie has what appears to be a very small bit of grit/litter in the corner of her eye, it doesn't seem to be bothering her what should I do get a cotton bud and attempt to remove it or see if it comes out on it's own (I don't think she'd appreciate me messing with her eye) |

| Try using a cotton bud moistened with warm water. You should probably try to get it out...if it stays there, it could cause irritation and infection. Make sure to give her a little treat once you're done...then all will be forgotten! |

| I found this at: http://www.pioneerhumanesociety.org/felinegrooming.html Quote: Checking your Cat’s Eyes . . . . . You need to check your cat’s eyes daily for dirt, foreign material, and oozing discharge. To clean, wet a cotton ball or swab and carefully wipe around the eye area, being very careful to not touch the eyeball. Contact your veterinarian if there is any sign of infection, scratches, or other injury.
| I've also rinsed Bruce's eye with plain sterile saline solution to dislodge something. I keep a bottle of plain saline (just for rinsing; not cleaning) around for use on the critters.

| Amazing how the treats work as some kind of amnesic agent. |

| They do seem to carry on like you're killin' them, don't they? Good thing they have short memories (well, some of the time!)
