Why oh why?

I think most of you know I have two dogs living next door to me; Oscar a Bully breed and Jade a Lab mix. The owners do not care about them at all. Last weekend my neighbour told me Jade has a strong odour about her and she was going to take her to the vet. Keep in mind, the dogs are still being fed Pedigree even after I printed out all the information about how bad it is. The dogs also eat cat poop which can be caused from lack of vitamins. Yesterday, I saw my neighbour and I asked her how Jade was doing and she said she is not bringing her to the vet because it is too expensive. She said her boyfriend is about to be laid off (he is a contsruction worker) and money is very tight for them. I told her she is better off finding homes for both the dogs and she said the only reason she is keeping them is because of the kids. The kids do nothing for the dogs except sleep with them at night on ocassion. I am so disgusted! When I brought up the fact she needs to switch dog foods she said that was too costly. I told her that could be a big part as to why the dogs are eating cat poop. You know what she said? All dogs eat cat poop! She said her brother's Pits eat cat poop (I didn't dare ask what diet he has them on) and her sister's dog who supposedly is on a "very expensive diet" eats cat poop.

It really upsets me to know there is a dog living next door to me who is not feeling well and the owners aren't doing a damn thing about it.

UGH!! Where do these people get their pet skills (or lack of) I wonder? You know, when we had dogs, we fed a high quality diet, and I found in the long run, it saved quite a bit of money compared to people I know who feed garbage food. We had less vet bills, the dogs ate less because they were really actually full, and there was less mess to clean up in the yard . Our friend would go through double the dog food that we would, so it ended up costing him more

Laurie, I told her that but it won't make her or her boyfriend change their minds. I know pets are supposed to be a lifetime committment but in situations like this, it is best the animals find a better home. I do not agree with people keeping pets if they can not take care of them.

I agree, they really do not deserve to have the dogs
