| Toronto Candlelight Vigil Hi All - I just got home from the vigil, and wanted to post a couple of pics for you. First of all, Willametvalleychins, Formula86 and Rossgirl, I had promised to light candles on your behalf - here they are:

| There were some beautiful dogs there, all well behaved and obviously much loved. Here are a couple of them:

| The crowd was about 150 people, there were several speakers - unfortunately the sound system wasn't that great, but the message was undoubtedly delivered. This last picture I think is the best and sums the whole disaster up:

| Liz, great pictures! I wish I would have thought for you to light a candle for me too! It is great to see so many people united for one cause. |

| There was one here in Halifax last night too. I saw it in the newspaper and on the news. I wish I didn't live so far from town, I would've liked to have gone. I'm not sure how Zena would've reacted to all the doggies though........ |

And you were right about taking Kleenex - the thing hadn't started yet and I had tears in my eyes looking at the lovely dogs and thinking about the evil things that could happen. I was petting one dog (with the owner's permission of course) and I had to walk away. I bet she thought I was nuts! |

I can understand the tissue thing as I get that way reading and thinking about the control freaks that are doing all of this without one bit of consideration in what they are doing to families.

| I am so outraged by this. I saw the latest on the news last night and it upset me terribly. Seeing well-behaved and loving dogs being muzzled makes me sick. I wish I could have been there as well. |

I was reading that Calgary/Alberta tried to pass a similar ban, but ended up coming to a mutual agreement with the various animal societies. Is that right? If so, I wish Ontario would do the same. |
