Pitch is peeing in the house

Luckily he is doing it on tiled floors but still what gives? I was in the kitchen a few days ago and noticed a yellow stain under one of our soda boxes. I thought a pop had exploded even though none of the cans were opened. I dismissed it as nothing. Then, I noticed a yellow stain in the bathroom by the tub. Again, I didn't think anything of it. Tonight, I was in the chinnie room and Pitch went into the bathroom and was gone for awhile. He walked out of the bathroom and something didn't feel right. Sure enough, there was a huge puddle of urine by the bathtub. He had gone outside not too long before he did that too. I guess I have to keep the bathroom door closed at all times and keep an eye on the tiled area in the kitchen to see if he does it again.

when i got chaquita at first, she was not too bad about her potty habits. then she started to realize that she was staying and started having anxiety bathroom accidents when i left.

sometimes dogs don't start to really come out of their shells until you've had them for a little bit. i would honestly just treat him like a puppy and go through the potty training routine.

Jane, thanks for the advice. i talked to an animal behavourist that works with the shelter and she said I need to buy Nature's Miracle. It is a solution that breaks up the enzymes in dog's urine. When Pitch urinated the first time in the bathroom, he was probably anxious because he was new. He still can smell his urine in that same area which is why he peed there this week. Also, it was raining that night and he HATES rain so he didn't fully empty his bladder when I took him outside. I have been keeping the door closed until I can get the cleaning solution.

Nature's Miracle is great stuff! We use it for everything nowadays...even food stains.

Good luck with getting Pitch to stop!

Sue, thanks!! I can't wait to buy some. I have to say, Pitch has been really good since we brought him home. We leave him alone in the kitchen during the day and he hasn't destroyed anything. Oops, I take that back, I have a nice, foam kitchen mat that he clawed yesterday but that was my fault because I forgot to put his doggie bed in the kitchen. A mat can always be replaced.

I spoke too soon. This morning Pitch peed all over the drapes in the living room and the cords to our stereo equipment. I hope the equipment isn't ruined. I have to buy the Nature's Miracle tonight for sure!!

Denise, some cleaning companies sell liquid enzyme straight up (needs to be mixed it is very concentrate), but the police depts. use it for "messes" in the cars, etc. It is the same thing as natures miracle, but tons cheaper, where I live, it is about $8 for a 4 litre jug of it (and it comes in a smaller size too). Just thinking that you will get more for your money that way, in case you need it for awhile (hoping he stops for you though)
