Here are the details for the proposed changes in London Ontario. http://council.london.ca/Environment%20and%20Transportation%20Committee%20A gendas/2005-08-22%20Agenda/1item%2020.pdf
Seriously read this document... They are saying that they may restrict ownership of pit-bulls in multiple dwellings (duplex, triplex, apartment buildings, townhouse) because they are dangerous... They claim it is a 'reasonable limit to the Charter that can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society'....... HOLY CRAP!!!!
They go on to say 'it could be argued that the limit is reasonable, as the owner has the option to move with the dog (either out of London or to a non-Multiple dwelling in London), to have the pit bull destroyed, or to transfer ownership of the pit bull to someone who does not live in a multiple dwelling. Furthermore, the owner would have until December 31, 2005 in order to move, should he or she chose to keep and licence the dog.'
Oh yeah... Don't forget to read the part about no 'visitors'... Meaning... If you go into the city with a 'pit bull' it can be seized and destroyed unless it has a London Pit Bull Dog Licence - which they are only issuing until December 2005 ONLY... OR - Unless you applied for an exemption for a 'pure-bred dog show dogs'...
This makes me sick to my stomach...
