Introducing "Star"

Here is Star! She had a busy morning, long(ish) car ride, new people, new surroundings. But she's settling in nicely. She has a lot of energy and is a great dog! Here are some pictures from this afternoon.

She's beautiful! And she looks so happy already

Are you guys going to rename her or are you going to keep her name? (just asking because you keep calling her "Star" )

I'm so excited for you & Jason. Do you have any dog parks in your area?

Sophie, yes, we are keeping her name. She is very responsive to her name. It turns out that she is about 17 months old (born in March 2006) so she's a bit too old to worry about changing names.

Sue, we don't have any dog parks in our city. I think that they have a space designated. Even worse, they have banned dogs from all school yards because of people not cleaning up after their dogs. It's not so bad though...we have friends who have land that she can run on. Once we know what her recall is like, we will be taking her out there. We took her for a long walk this morning and then played ball and she is one tired girl!

The cats are okay right now. We actually passed a cat under a truck this morning. I didn't see it until Star had spotted it. She bounced a bit and tugged a bit but she wasn't aggressive at all. She has seen Syd and there wasn't any reaction except for her ears perked up. We are sticking to a plan similar to this:

Cool Did the police training facility go over the training she has with you? Do you guys know which commands she knows and doesn't? It sounds like she's got a lot of training behind her. I'm interested in knowing what she can already do
