Freaking crate

Yet another reason why I HATE crating. The crate we have has a slide out tray. Convenient for cleaning right? But did the manufacturers ever thing that a dog could have the ability to slide out the tray therefore leaving the floor exposed so the dog could piddle on it and chew a gaping hole in the carpeting? Last Friday, Dave picked me up from the train station and told me our dear Logan had managed to slide the tray over and ripped a hole half the size of my hand in the carpeting. I blame myself because Dave thought of putting the crate against our sofa table so the tray couldn't slide out. Well, I vacuumed and forgot to do that. So, it is going to cost me about $260 to replace the carpeting in that area. I feel like writing the manufacturers and telling them what a freaked up thing it is to have a tray that doesn't lock into the crate or a tray that isn't high enough so that it can't move. When we bought the crate I didn't even think of Logan moving the tray.

So, it goes something like this:

* Husband's suede jacket shredded - can't mend
* Small portion of the kitchen wall chewed - can be repaired when we move out
* Hole in the carpeting - $260

Owning a puppy - priceless

Lil just eats underwear, I think she ate at least 10 pairs when she was just a puppy, very gross habit, she doesn't do it anymore, but yes owning a doggie is priceless.

Oh no
I am very sorry Denise
Dogs are priceless, and I am certain they are so cute so that you don't send them off the back deck he he
Just a little while ago, Scott and I came back from grocery shopping and it was Pippin's playtime around this house ( we don't crate him anymore during the day) and him and Joey must have been running sideways on the couch, all the cushions are on the floor they never cease to amaze

Ps, keep repeating, they are only puppies once, they are only puppies once

Our Auggie Doggie (Old English Sheepdog) ate the dresser and one of the large poster legs on our 4 poster bed. He also got a hold of our couch pillows and shook the stuffing out of it. It looked like it had snowed in our living room when we came home. And, you can't vacuum that stuff up without it clogging the vac.
I am sorry that happened to you Denise....lets hope that's that last of the damage

Crazy little bugger! I had a destructive dog before (my American Eskimo, Dakota).. He chewed my bedframe.. all four sides! He also dug at the walls in a couple of spots... When I moved here I finally thru that bed away.. It was hard b/c every time I'd get a splinter getting out of bed, I'd think of my little white teddy bear..
When they do things like this.. You're angry but you take one look at those big brown eyes and you have to laugh.. (and forgive)..

Lil ate my pancakes this morning, I left them on the table to grab the phone and within like 1 minute she had eaten them, I couldn't get mad though, they didn't taste that great to me!

Snickers, our dog used to have the run of the kitchen when we were out...well not anymore. After returning home one day to find the tablecloth pulled off the table and our beautiful potted plant arrangement. He made mudpies on the floor with the dirt and had chewed everything to pieces. I can laugh about it now...but back then.....
