2005 Westminster Dog Show

Did anyone watch the Westminster Dog Show this year? A German Shorthaired Pointer won Best in Show. I loved the Golden that won Best of Breed.

I did! I was cheering for 2 people...My aunt and uncle's dog Jade i believe they had...(Carosel Weimerainers-Bill and Pat Van Camp, Handled by Rusty) and my friends from Virginia. Debbie Butt with the whippet. They made it to the group (taking breed)! They called right when they got breed. lol. Too bad they didn't get it. I liked the show though. My mom used to go there with one of our Akitas and help with "Billboard Dogs". It is dogs that walk around with "billboards". (really soft material saying about the show and the dates of it that strap on the dogs.) My mom and her friend had a litter of puppies and he bought a female akita for his company. It's really neat. I believe they have a website and maybe could do a search "Billboard" dogs for it, but don't know it. She didn't do it this year though. But you walk around in Madison Square Garden...

I love dogs but the toy breeds never interest me. They are definitely cute but I love the larger breeds. The bloodhound was gorgeous! And what about the poodles? I can't help but laugh at the way they groom them. I don't think I could be seen walking down the street with one of those.

I didn't see any of it, but I usually like watching the working dogs, sheep herders, etc. I also like the rope dog, forgot the name, something with a Katumudo, Komodor, or something like that.

We just happened to catch the end of the show, but it was good timing because we got to see each dog up for 'Best in Show'. I think they made a great choice in the winner, that dog was gorgeous!

I have to say that the toy group is always my favorite. I love big dogs (we want a Great Dane one day), but have a soft spot in my heart for the little guys. They're just so darn cute!!

Well, I'm confident in my femininity LOL I LOVE the toy breeds. In fact, I love the herding, I love the non-sporting....I love them all. I'm an equal opportunity dog lover.

That shorthaired pointer deserved to win. She showed and strutted herself...she was amazing
