Question Do hedgehogs have any behavioural issues

If so, what are they and is there anything that can be done to prevent them, if they interfere with where they are living?

Hi Ally,

I can say, from my own hedgie experience of 7 years, that hedgies like thing to be kept constant. If they are runners and you take away their wheel for any reason they will become depressed. If you also alter the placement of objects in their cage they may revolt and turn their whole cage upside down. Quilling is another issue in itself. You may have the sweetest hog ever but if he/she is quilling they can turn into devils. To help then through the quilling process you can bath them in Aveno oatmeal body wash soap. That is my input for now.

I agree with redrose. My little Jinx is quilling right now (losing some baby quills and growing new adult ones), and she can be huffy on the off day.

Another little quirk of hers..... She uses a water bowl, and if you put a water bottle in her cage instead she will mess her whole cage up.

All in all they each have their own personality, some are cuddly and others don't like much contact at all.
