Cat eating dryer sheet

I just found a soggy, half eaten dryer sheet on the floor, and I'm a bit concerned. Dryer sheets appear to be made out of a fibrous, inorganic material and I'm worried that my cats stomach will not be able to digest it and it will get lodged in there somewhere. I'm a bit paranoid since my other cat ate a piece of nylon ribbon last year and ($1300 later) she had stomach surgery to remove it because she couldn't get any food or water down. Any comments?

I don't have any experience with this, so I guess I would call the vet and see what they say. In the meantime is the cat urping, or hacking? Is she/he pooping normally? Eating and drinking? I would probably give her/him some hairball laxative in hopes of passing any possible remaining pieces.
A whole other issue is the chemicals on the dryer sheet- don't know if they are harmful to cats too.

I would also contact your vet. If your cat is eating and pooping normally, the situation may not be serious right now. However, it could quickly become life threatening should the dryer sheet become lodged and/or prevent normal bodily functions. Good luck.
